Queensland police reported that four individuals sustained gunshot wounds following a drive-by shooting outside a licensed venue in Loganholme, a suburb south of Brisbane. Officers arrived at the scene at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday evening after receiving calls that a vehicle had fired shots. The suspect vehicle was observed fleeing the area, and all four injured parties were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their medical conditions are currently under assessment.

The incident occurred at Fitzys Loganholme on Bryants Road, which was hosting the Logan City Titles Fight Night. Deputy commander Chris Stream of Queensland police described the scene as confronting. He confirmed that multiple attendees suffered from gunshot wounds. Police have not yet identified the offenders, who remain at large. Authorities stated they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public and have requested that witnesses contact them with information.

Jon Raven, the mayor of Logan, stated that residents in the area are frightened by the attack. Raven told the Today program that the event has sent a shockwave through the community. He noted that residents have never seen an incident of this nature in Logan before. Raven expressed his thoughts for the victims, the staff, and everyone present at the venue. He mentioned that he had attended similar events in the past and viewed them as family-friendly environments with many children in attendance.

Raven said the incident will have a lasting impact on the children who were present. He noted that the night was organized to help steer young people away from violence. The mayor explained that the event organizer uses boxing to empower and reconnect young people who might be struggling. Raven said the organizer would be devastated because the event was intended to be the opposite of the violence that occurred. The mayor emphasized that the organizer loves boxing and uses it as a tool for community engagement.

Logan City Titles issued a statement on social media on Sunday morning. The group described the incident as heartbreaking for the fight night. The organizers characterized the event as a community gathering designed to showcase local talent and hard work. They stated that such incidents have no place in the boxing community or the wider public. The statement highlighted the skills of the participants inside the ring and the community spirit of the night. Police continue to investigate the drive-by shooting in the Loganholme area.
