Three days separate the moment a groom lost his wedding band in Las Vegas from the moment he died. Tammy Bishop, a resident of South Dakota, is now asking the public for help locating the piece of jewelry her husband, Will Mulroy, misplaced the night of their October 20 marriage.

The couple exchanged vows at the Viva Las Vegas Chapel. Following the ceremony, they boarded a party bus to tour the Strip. During a stop at a bar, Mulroy looked down at his hand and realized the ring was missing. Bishop recalled the moment with raw emotion. “He looked down and his band was gone. He lost it. He started crying,” she said.

Mulroy had told Bishop prior to the event that the ring was two sizes too large because he had lost weight. Bishop believes the metal may have slipped off while he transferred to his wheelchair or while the vehicle moved down the avenue. The couple retraced their route and alerted the bus driver. “We had everyone looking. We couldn’t find it,” Bishop stated. The next morning, she joked that he had lost it within 24 hours, a comment that drew laughter from their group at the time.

The loss took on a heavier weight three days after the wedding. Bishop said Mulroy was in severe pain on the drive back to South Dakota and intended to visit the emergency room upon their arrival. The following morning, he was congested and stayed home from work at Fleet Farm. When Bishop could not wake him, she called 911. Doctors declared him brain dead. He remained on life support for 24 hours, and his heart stopped three times in the emergency room.

The couple met in July 2023 and began dating in March 2024. A week into their relationship, Mulroy suffered a motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. Bishop noted that anger was present in the early stages of their bond. Mulroy continued to ask her to marry him, and she agreed this summer. On her October 4 birthday, he revealed that all arrangements for a Las Vegas wedding were already booked.

Mulroy worked at Fleet Farm and had previous experience with party buses. The pair planned to launch their own party bus venture. Bishop described him as mechanically inclined and capable of handling repairs without outside help. She remembered the wedding day as perfect, noting that Mulroy was in high spirits when he first saw her in her dress on the party bus.

The rings had been blessed before the ceremony. Bishop holds that the specific band represents the life they shared and the man he was. She hopes a stranger who saw the ring fall will find it. “It would mean a lot. The rings were blessed, and that was our wedding ring, and that was him and how much it meant to him. That’s why it means so much to me,” she said.
