Residents of Louisville, Kentucky, should prepare for a shift in weather patterns this weekend that could affect outdoor activities. The upcoming period begins with a cool Friday before transitioning into a wetter stretch.
A weak cold front will bring slightly cooler air to the region on Friday. Skies will remain mostly sunny, with high temperatures reaching the 70s. Overnight humidity will prevent temperatures from dropping below the 50s.
Cloud cover will increase from Friday night into early Saturday. This cloud cover will keep overnight lows mild, with all areas staying in the 50s. Saturday, which is Halloween, will feature cloudy skies as the next weather system approaches.
Trick-or-treating is currently forecast to be mainly dry. However, the probability of showers will rise during Saturday night. A disturbance moving through at that time will contend with dry air, which may delay rainfall until early Sunday.
Showers could persist through a large portion of Sunday and into early Monday. Meteorologists note uncertainties regarding how widespread the rain will be and the total accumulation. Drier conditions are expected to return by Tuesday for Election Day, with another chance of rain arriving mid next week.
